Impact Cases designed and manufactured a watertight shipping case to hold a large format printer, with the case doubling as a printer stand for in-field deployment by the U.S government.

The Industry: Defense

Application: A watertight shipping case that could also be used as a printer stand was engineered to transport a sensitive printer, which was a vital part of command center support equipment.

The Challenge: To create a protective case/desk height printer stand that could be deployed as one unit.

The Solution: Impact designed a case with a bonnet style, removable lid with a foam block system and a base with custom foam inserts. When the lid is removed and placed on the ground, the base containing the printer is placed on top of the lid to create a desk height printer stand. The printer is secured in place with stacking alignment pads, and the lid, which is on the ground, has machined HDPE feet to protect the valance.

Defining Features: Bonnet style lid to create printer stand, wear resistant feet on the lid and custom foam blocks and inserts.

Benefits: The customer is able to ship the printer and stand as a single unit for immediate command centre deployment.
